While there was nothing necessarily wrong with the original score of the 2011 Ryan Gosling film Drive, which featured Chromatics among others, BBC Radio 1 has commissioned a rescoring of the film, with some of today’s brightest up-and-coming artists contributing new music, including The 1975, CHVRCHES, and Jon Hopkins.
One of the most anticipated songs is a new track from Bastille, which is now available for sampling.
Titled “The Driver,” the song is a little less overtly pop than we’ve come to expected from the British alternative group, but the darker, moodier turn is fitting for the film, which drifts toward a similar aesthetic.
