Tom Hardy has joined the BBC miniseries "Taboo." The eight-episode series will be produced by Ridley Scott and written by Hardy's "Locke" writer/director Steven Knight. A synopsis reads: "Set in 1813, the story follows James Keziah Delaney (Hardy), a rogue adventurer who returns from Africa with 14 ill-gotten diamonds to seek vengeance after the death of his father. Refusing to sell the family business to the East India Company, he sets out to build his own trade and shipping empire and finds himself playing a dangerous game with two warring nations, Britain and America." "Taboo" will begin production in January 2015.

Are you ready for a new "Police Academy?"
Variety reports that the once-successful franchise is in talks to get rebooted, with comedians Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele of "Key & Peele" to produce. The Comedy Central stars would join "Police Academy" franchise creator Paul Maslansky as producers.
Between 1984 and 1994, seven "Police Academy" films were released, with Steve Guttenberg starring in the first four. New Line has been attempting to revive the franchise in recent years.
The new deal isn't signed yet, but before Key and Peele can think about producing the new "Police Academy" movie, they are set to appear in four episodes of FX's "Fargo," which premieres April 15.
