Прочла сегодня. Понравился фьюжно вроде как бы современного мира, но с магией (пусть и запрещенной). Понравилось, что не все показывалось в хронологическом порядке. Понравились описания. И нон-кон, который я обычно предпочитаю не читать, тут не был особо в центре внимания или очень графическим. А еще, как только что выяснилось, автор этот написал еще два фика, которые я читала в прошлом году и сильно прониклась.

Первое, что могу сказать - действительно hot. Имхо, конечно, такие вещи могут быть только имхо)))Но порадовало, что Артур и Ланселот и Перси снимаются в сериале "Римлянин", а Гвен и Мерлин являются фанатами и живут в фандоме, а Мерлин к тому же рисует фанарт с персонажем Артура (которого зовут Аурелиус). А тут Мерлин случайно обнаруживает этого самого Экскалибура на порносайте - его лица он не видит, но тело вполне неплохое (пусть и не такое идеальное, как у Артура Пендрагона, Мерлин уверен). Вполне пропозитивило.

Урок мне в том, что надо внимательно читать тэги фика. У этого фика был тэг Psychological Drama, а я не заметила. И плохо, что не заметила, потому что это именно психологическая драма. Ударение на "драма", ударение на "психологическая". А я читала в ожидании доместик флаффа. В общем, на самом деле, это сильная вещь, но читать на страх и риск.

Вот почитала я тэги этого фика и решила, что будет крэк. А вышел фик, который прямо даже лучше Chaos war (я их читала подряд, друг за другом). Не могу ничего сказать, что не наспойлерить, но там прекрасный неожиданный сюжет и все так, что прямо зажимает внутри от удовольствия (не в том смысле, в которым вы могли подумать, просто очень здорово читать это было).

Знаете этот новый сериал "Awake"? Где герой после аварии живет в двух разных мирах - в одном мире у него осталась только жена, а в другом мире жив сын, и каждое утро герой просыпается то в одном, то в другом мире. Так вот, в фике Джон живет в четырех мирах (и мне понадобилось 10 минут, чтоб понять, сколько миров и как их различать, так что заранее пожалуйста за объяснение))) Фик, кстати, был написан до выхода Awake. В общем, ПОВ Джона, 4 мира, отличные описания и местами аж приходилось замирать во время чтения. Есть и сиквел.

There's a case at a secondary school/University, some series of threats or string of bizarre murders that has the entire campus shaken. In the course of the investigation, Sherlock and John meet two students. One is well liked if not popular, athletic, intelligent without showing off, involved only because they were close to a victim or witnessed something important. The other is a loner with no regard for social norms, an insufferable genius, always in the chem lab, and involved because everyone, including teachers/professors, think they're behind everything.

Sherlock and John are responsible for these two meeting. And, because they both want to help with the investigation, they get to watch them become friends and fall a little in love. And that makes them feel things about themselves that they've been working very hard to not feel, thank you.

Я безумно люблю фики про внутреннюю работу шоу бизнеса/какого-то шоу, вот просто безумно. Особенно если автор знает, о чем пишет, и пишет хорошо. А тут очень длинный фик, где Шерлок и Джон - актеры, снимающиеся у Энга Ли. И мне так много всего в этом фике понравилось, и дескать предыдущие роли их, и описания внутренней работы съемки кино, и типа отрывки интервью или постов в сети. И Ирен, там очень классная Ирен.

He coordinates volunteering and assistance for several charities in New York City, where his parish is, and doesn't mind the life of poverty he leads (though his sister Raven sometimes comes in from upstate to ask him if he doesn't miss champagne at all.)

Then he comes up with the idea of partnering with a Jewish organization that helps the poor, which meets with some resistance from the Catholic brass -- but Charles is firm that all children are God's children and they should do what's right.

Then he meets Erik Lehnsherr, the devout Jew and Holocaust survivor who runs that other charity, who is so fiercely protective of his charges that it moves Charles' heart -- and the first time their eyes meet, Charles has to confront the greatest temptation he'll ever know, and the church's teachings about what love is

Но иногда тебе достаются инопланетные яблоки". И никак не могла вспомнить, откуда это и что. Стала гуглить. Выяснилось, что из старого фика по Торчвуду. Нашла, перечитала. И теперь официально советую. Пост-первый сезон. Там такой правильный Ианто...
