BBC America has landed an internationally flavored cast for its first non-imported scripted series, "Copper."

The show, from the "Homicide"/"Oz" team of Tom Fontana and Barry Levinson, will star British actor Tom Weston-Jones ("MI-5") as an Irish immigrant police officer working in New York City in the 1860s. The series will also feature German-born Franka Potente ("The Bourne Identity," "The Shield"), Paris-born, London-raised Anastasia Griffith ("Once Upon a Time," "Damages") and Canada's Kyle Schmid ("Blood Ties").

"Copper," which is set to debut in the summer, will follow Kevin Corcoran (Weston-Jones) as he patrols New York's volatile Five Points neighborhood (the setting for Martin Scorsese's "Gangs of New York") and attempts to solve the mystery of his wife's disappearance and daughter's death.

Fontana and Will Rokos ("Southland," "Monster's Ball") created the series and will executive produce with Barry Levinson and Christina Wayne.

Хороший каст, хорошие создатели. И, смотрю, сериалы "не про сегодня" становятся уж очень популярными.
